William came home on an extra train yesterday, and went to town to bring Sarah home. Rufus & Lucy have both gone to Cincinnati to be with Ephraim at the time when his face is operated upon by Dr. Blackman. It will be a very severe operation, God grant to put underneath him the ever lasting arms, & sustain & bless him.
Mrs. Dickey & Mrs. Lindley called.
I went to town on the afternoon train to stay with Sister Sarah until we hear favorable news from Cincinnati. I found Mrs. Dawes quite unwell & glad to see me. Rev. Mr. Wickes who has just returned from a visit to New York was there making a call.
